Hi there! I'm Susy de Urruela, also known as Susy, The College Coach. With degrees in Human Resources and Education, I bring a unique blend of experience from my days as a professional ballet dancer across Mexico, Canada, and France, coupled with over 20 years in HR and corporate leadership.
As founder and CEO of The College Coach in 2013, I consider myself a student of universities, having personally visited over 300 across the Americas and Europe. I'm passionate about guiding students through the intricacies of college admissions with a global perspective. I've earned certifications from prestigious institutions such as UCLA, Harvard, and UC Berkeley in college and career counseling. Recently, I've doubled our counseling power, now with two of us dedicated to ensuring every student's application journey is positive and successful!

What?
Since 2015, the Central American College Tour has grown into the largest college fair in the region. Starting in Guatemala, the tour now includes El Salvador, Honduras (Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula), Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
Each year, the tour hosts around 90 universities and attracts over 1,500 students and parents in Guatemala, with an average of 800+ attendees in each of the other countries. All fairs are also open to students, parents, and counselors from other schools.
Participating universities come from Canada, Latin America, the USA, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Who?
Fom its beginning until this year, the tour was hosted by APDE Schools Guatemala, with co-hosting schools in other regions, including APCE Schools in El Salvador, Escuela Británica Cuscatleca, The American School of Tegucigalpa, Escuela Internacional Sampedrana, Country Day School in Costa Rica, and Lincoln International Academy in Nicaragua. This year, we are very excited to welcome our new hosts – the American School of Guatemala and Lincoln School in Costa Rica
Why?
The purpose of the fair is simple: to connect our students with higher education representatives who can share details about their academic programs, scholarships, application requirements, and all the unique benefits they offer. It’s a great opportunity for students to break the ice and have real conversations with university reps about their aspirations.
For universities, this tour offers a perfect platform to connect with motivated, talented students from across Central America.
